Tuttle's First Birthday Party

I know this post is going in reverse of our actual lives, but I could not start a blog without showing off Tuttle's first birthday party! I started planning it when he was six months years old. :)

Tuttle has been attracted to the color yellow and ducks since he could see. I knew I wanted to have a bath themed (rubber ducky) birthday party.I also knew that I would have a huge invite list because Tuttle is the first grandchild on either side of our families. We topped out at SIXTY people at his party from our friends, little friends, and family. Tuttle is one loved little boy!

Here is a peek into his special day:

We served hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, potato salad, and watermelon. Yum!

I made the duck cupcakes (with my mom and Shelly's help), and we ordered the Smash Cake from my mom's co-worker. The details are hard to make out here, but it is a bubble bath!

On each table, I placed rubber ducks and a photo of Tuttle from each month of his life. He definitely looked like three different kids with his black hair, red hair, and blonde hair!!

This was probably my favorite decoration for the party: the goody bags! I bought $1 yellow pails from the Target dollar section. I filled them with a rubber duck, a water ball, scented bubbles, and "Cheese and Quackers," of course. I had the vision, and Shelly executed it with her amazing talent.

After chatting and filling our bellies with good summer food, we sang "Happy Birthday" and let Tuttle dive into his Smash Cake. This was the first time he had really eaten a sugary treat.

I think he enjoyed it. Don't you?
Although the decorating and cake eating was fun, the best part of the party was all of the people who came to celebrate!
The entire Thorne family- We were SO excited that everyone was there to celebrate! Wow!

Genesis, Brett, and Baby Jett! She officially had to RSVP for three!

The Corbitt Clan- minus Emily, Robb, and Grandma. There has been a recent addition to the clan, too: Baby Gwen! I cannot wait to meet her!

Dylan and Stella- Tuttle's BEST FRIENDS (He looked for their approval the whole time he was eating his cake!)

My high school best friend, Jackie, and her little princess, Caroline. I am thrilled that she just found out she is having a BOY next!

Jay's Friends :)

Kristin and Tuttle's girlfriend, Connor. She is the sweetest, most polite, smartest two year old alive!

Tuttle's Great-Aunts Ann and Alice, Aunt Peach, and Eddie

THREE GENERATIONS of Jere Tuttle Thorne

The baby timeline from toddler to dating!

Happy First Birthday, Tuttle!!!

My First Blog Post :)

After much harassing from a certain friend (Kristin Horton) about starting a blog, I have finally decided to give in! I know I take enough pictures of our little boy to fill up a blog!

Tuttle and I are on the working home stretch this week. We have been watching Stella and Dylan for five weeks now, and this week will round out week six. Although Tuttle is obsessed with the kids, especially Dylan, I know we are both ready for time that we can stay in our pajamas until noon and meet Jay for lunch or have playdates by the pool. :) We will have the entire month of June off!!

Tuttle is now 13 months old. I cannot believe how fast time is flying with our little boy. Last week, he took his first steps! Jay can proudly say that he was the one who prompted this HUGE MILESTONE.We both believe that we will have a full on walker by our beach trip in July.

We are already spending as much time as possible by the pool. Tuttle starts swim lessons this Saturday. My mom gave him the lessons as a birthday gift. I refuse to have a three year old that cannot swim, so I am starting him out early.

This is Tuttle's new smile....We think he looks like a pirate!

I have a lot of fun outings planned this week for this for the kids: Fernbank, Zoo Atlanta, school playdate, and I am sure ice cream!! How could you not go for a messy treat, when your baby looks like this?
