Grand Slam

Tuttle's first baseball season came to an end on Saturday when they took home runner up in the fall tournament. It was a tough game, and the boys played hard. Tuttle even made contact with the ball in his last at bat. Unfortunately it was a pop fly, and the pitcher caught it.

I cannot say enough good things about this season especially during such a difficult year with COVID. The coaches, teammates, and families made it feel more normal when we were at the ball fields, and Tuttle learned so much with the sweetest and most uplifting group of boys.

We cannot wait to sign up with another season with Roswell Youth Baseball. Go Orioles!

Full Calendar

The Thorne kids have been busy this week starting with Tuttle's playoff game with the Orioles. Tuttle has experienced such a great first season playing baseball- the coaches have taught him so much and the teammates are always very supportive of each other. With single elimination playoffs, we did not want our time to end. We played an extremely strong team that had already beaten us twice during the regular season, but our boys brought their 'A' game. It went into two extra innings, but the Orioles came out victorious with a 7-6 win. Tuttle was walked twice during his time at bat and brought in one run. We are biting our nails waiting for the championship game on Saturday now. Go, Orioles!

Much to Jacob's resistance, Picture Day arrived Tuesday for his preschool class. I have really given in completely to "dude clothes" everyday which consists of tshirts and atheltic shorts and pants, but I insisted on a button down and jeans for the pictures. It took all the bribes and Jay's support, but our handsome boy arrived at school dressed to impress. I even convinced him to take a few more photos after school by a little pond in our neighborhood (again, more bribes.) He is ready for his GQ shoot now.

Maggie and her teammates met up yesterday afternoon to decorate pumpkins for the annual contest at the gym. In true Maggie fashion, she came prepared to shine with the cutest ice cream design she found on the internet. I bought supplies this week and with limited assistance, Maggie created her masterpiece. She cannot wait to bring it to the gym today for judging! :)

Costume Prep

You never know what you will find in your yard when you move to the suburbs....

We are getting so close to one of the Thorne kids' favorite days of the year because we have absolutely ZERO restrictions on how much candy they eat on Halloween!

Scarecrows in the Garden

With the kids home from school for Columbus Day, we had the chance to visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens during the Scarecrows in the Garden exhibit. We were very impressed with the amount of scarecrows and fall decorations this year. I guess people have more time on their hands to plan creative designs during a pandemic....

I think I brought home the cutest pumpkins in the patch.

Georgia Auburn COVID Style

Jay won the "Daddy of the Year" Award last weekend after a full day at the baseball fields with a double header. He loaded up Tuttle, Jacob, and a friend to head to Athens for the Georgia Auburn game. It was extra special because the friend, Brady, was the former owner's son of our new house. We have gotten close with the old family and could not think of a better guest to take to the home game.

Before heading to the game, the boys stopped by the bookstore to meet some special people. :)

The stadium was only filled to 20% capacity, so it was a very memorable (and strange) experience for the boys. There were no lines at the concession stands or the restrooms, and Jacob had room to run around the seats.

Highlights of the game included getting on the Jumbo-Tron and a BIG WIN for the Bulldawgs! The boys went home happy and exhausted. It was a great day for our family!

Fall Break and CJ's Wedding

We really enjoyed Fall Break last week after seven successful weeks at school. After our annual trip to the apple orchard, the kids spent an entire day eating junk food and watching movies because everyone needs a reset day. I was able to join Gram and Grumps for lunch and a walk while the kids zoned out.

On Wednesday, I surprised the kids with a meetup with some of our favorites from Brookhaven that we have not seen since we moved. The kids reluctantly got in the car to run errands but instead we arrived at a nearby hiking spot with their besties!

Finally CJ and Kristina's wedding weekend arrived and came together with a last minute location change to the beach! Gram helped out so much by staying with the kids for our getaway from Thursday to Sunday. It was extra special to celebrate my birthday on Saturday, too!

CJ is one of my all-time favorite people, and I could not wait to celebrate him and his beautiful bride. We are so lucky to have CJ in our lives and cannot wait to see what is future holds for him- I am hoping for LOTS of babies since CJ is just the BEST with kids!

Congratulations to CJ and Kristina! We were honored to be part of your special day!

The kids are counting down the days until Halloween now. We introduced the CHOA fundraising project, Buy a Boo, to add some festive fun to our new neighborhood. The kids were shocked to find out that they had already been Boo-ed so early!

Jacob completed his first school project with his spooky Apple Critter. He was so proud to bring his design to his teachers and friends.

We are loving the cooler fall temperatures and all the prep for the upcoming holidays. Happy Fall, Y'all!
