Halloween 2020

We finally convinced Ms. Jenna to come see our new house for our annual pumpkin carving contest. Ever since COVID, she has been staying close to home, so we were thrilled when she agreed to head our way. It would not be the same carving without our favorite neighbor. Tuttle decided that he would be independent this year, and he blew us away with his skills on his poop emoji pumpkin. He was the clear winner with the social media votes! (Jacob also created a one-of-a-kind creation.)

Jacob was "Star Student" this week and brought his favorite Halloween books and treats for his preschool buddies.

The weather turned our week upside down with the effects of Hurricane Zeta and left us without power for almost 20 hours, and school was cancelled for two days because so many roads were out of commission with fallen trees and power outages. The kids and I took full advantage of sleeping in.

Halloween finally arrived on Saturday, and Maggie literally counted down the hours to get dressed up. I let the kids have complete control of their looks still year, and this included creepy costumes.

We loved exploring our new neighborhood and collecting ALL. THE. CANDY. We bumped into several favorite families along the way. The kids went hard trick or treating for over two hours before we walked home to assess their candy collections.

Halloween felt actually felt normal. We are hoping the rest of the holidays follow suit.
