We had a whirlwind of a weekend cheering on Tuttle and his Buckhead United team at a winter tournament in Florida. Daddy was the best sport with all the driving he had to do in our three day trip!
We welcomed the warmer weather on the fields, and the boys pulled out two incredible wins on Saturday. Tuttle feels very lucky to have joined this new team. The coach has really impacted his soccer skills, and Tuttle is an asset to the team now, especially in the goal.
While Tuttle hung out with the team between games, Daddy and I took Maggie, Jacob, and Rosie to the beach. It was Rosie's first time at the ocean, and initially she was a little intimidated. Once she got the zoomies, she could not get enough of the sand and digging for treasures. The water was a little cold, so we will have to try again to see if we have a swimmer!
Sadly the SEC Championship did not bode well for the Bulldawgs Saturday evening, but we enjoyed a yummy dinner at a local spot visiting with the team before crashing in bed at our Airbnb.
Sunday we were up bright and early for the third game of the tournament. Ultimately the boys were guaranteed a spot at the championship with two wins the previous day. The third game ended in a tie, and we hurried to eat lunch at an oceanside spot before returning for the final game.
Tuttle was honored to play goalie for the entire championship game. He had some amazing stops, but the game did not go in Buckhead United's favor with a 1-3 loss. The boys should be so proud of themselves for their teamwork and effort to earn 2nd place in the tournament.
It was crazy to fit in a weekend trip to Florida during such a busy month yet it was such a memorable mini vacation for our family. Go Buckhead United!
