April Antics

Aunt Peach and I got a wild hair and ventured to the tattoo shop for matching finger art. I think I am feeling my march toward 40 in September and trying to knock out some craziness. :)

The boys enjoyed cheering on the Dawgs at the G-Day Game.

Jay and I celebrated the Masters on the back porch. I had a pool at work that initially I was winning (solely based on how good looking the golfers were in my bracket), but I quickly dropped to last place. The mimosas and chicken salad made me feel better with the loss.

Tuttle turned FOURTEEN. We celebrated him with a dinner at home and scheduled his party for May when activities and sports calmed down.

Maggie and her team traveled to Gulf Shores, Alabama for Regionals. This was one of Maggie's main goals of the season especially since the meets had not gone as planned. I always love traveling with the moms, and we actually had time to relax.

It was a tough meet for Maggie which was difficult for her because she wanted to end the season with higher scores. We had a long beach walk to discuss expectations for Level 8, and both learned a lot about each other's view of this roller coaster sport.

I am so proud of Maggie for her determination and resilience. Roswell Gymnastics is a special place with the most supportive coaches and teammates. Maggie is ready to make some mental changes and tackle new skills. The girls immediately begin training for Level 8- no rest for these powerhouses.

Easter and Spring Break

We celebrated Easter at Roswell United Methodist Church this year. I had to restrain myself from venturing back to PRUMC because their Easter services are unmatched, but we had a beautiful morning closer to home.

Gram and Grumps hosted another successful Easter lunch and egg hunt.

The next day we left for SPRING BREAK! We planned our vacation differently this time. For the first time in EIGHT years we did not head down to Orlando for a magical week at Disney. Jay and I changed things up and booked a condo in 30A for our crew + two friends.

The week was full of beach and pool time, golf cart rides, yummy food and drinks, competitive putt putt golf, and memories with friends. While Tuttle had Bryce, and Maggie spent the week with Riley, the Mitchell Family and the McCormack Family were there, too, so Jacob had a crew of boys to be with and we had the parents!

The beach waved double red flags the whole trip, but the kids did not seem to mind very much. The water was still pretty cold!

Jay remained the reigning champion, but Bryce almost dethroned him!

Parents Night Out was so much fun until Maggie called to report her injuries from a bicycle accident in front of our condo. :(

Lucy was included in the trip, too. She did not make it to the beach, but she loved walking around The Big Chill. She always proved to be the most popular member of our family!

Overall the trip was an absolute success and one of my favorite vacations to date! It was relaxing, the kids were pretty self sufficient, we LOVED our condo and its proximity to entertainment, and it was relatively affordable! I know we will be returning!

March 2024

I need to play MAJOR catch up with the blog. Work, school, and sports have dominated the last few months, and each day leaves little to no time to reflect on all our activities. Here is a quick rundown of March.

A new family member joined our chaos. Although it has been a difficult recovery from losing Rosie so unexpectedly, Jay encouraged us to open our hearts for a new puppy. Lucy is FULL of energy and puppy antics, but we are learning to love a new fur baby.

Gymnastics competition season was in full swing in March. Level 7 has proven to be a challenging year for Maggie with many ups and downs. Our girl did achieve the three scores of 36+ to qualify to train Level 8 this summer, but it took a major mental toil on her. I am extremely proud of her commitment and resilience. While Maggie was not thrilled with her state meet performance, she qualified for Regionals and was in the top 35 Level 7 gymnasts in the state of Georgia.

Baseball has been the highlight for both boys. Tuttle's Reds team has a 12-1-1 record. They are absolutely amazing to watch, and Tuttle has grown so much as a player. Tuttle was a little hesitant to sign up for baseball after such a packed practice schedule with football and wrestling, but Jay pushed him to use the season as a more relaxed commitment. Even though the boys have several 8pm-10pm games, I love every second of it!

Jacob has proven to be the MVP of his Mets team. As one of the more seasoned players, he has received the game ball four times, averages a home run each game, and has developed such a strong understanding of fielding and how to make strong plays. His team does not have the best record, but Jacob is having fun!

Jay and I have prioritized sneaking away for some fun, too. This included several GNO for me, but our favorite Friday night was spent with Anne and Matt in Atlanta!

March came in like a lion and stayed crazy until the end!
