Bulldawgs and Birthday

We cheered the Bulldawgs to victory Saturday afternoon at the Poole's house. It looked like a middle school dance with the boys in the living room watching the game and the girls/babies in the kitchen snacking and catching up. :)

It was a big game to win to work toward the SEC championship, so everyone left very happy.

I dropped Jay and the babies off at home after the game, so I could have a final birthday celebration with my friend, Elena. We met at our sons' preschool and have become fast friends.

She treated me to dinner and dessert. We stuffed ourselves with sushi at Amura and creme brulee at Bistro Niko. A girls' night out is always so refreshing and really allows me to recharge my battery. Elena is such a sweet friend, and I am very lucky to have her in my life. We decided we need a night out once a month from now on.

Sunday Jay had a chance to work on his Wagoneer and was able to really accomplish a lot of repairs himself. I am extremely impressed how much he is able to tackle- He replaced the spark plugs and starter. I love that his truck is becoming such a hobby for him.

After naps a new babysitter came over to watch the kids, so Jay and I could have the afternoon to ourselves. While we did not do anything very exciting, it was fun to go shopping and run a few errands without hauling babies along. :)

It officially is feeling like fall, and I am loving the weather. Have a great week!

My Birthday

My 29th birthday was yesterday, and it was one of my best celebrations to date. We started off the morning with a breakfast trip to Dunkin' Donuts. Jay was able to go into work a little later than usual. It was the perfect way to start the day.

After a trip to Leapin' Lizards to allow the kids to jump some energy out,  I returned home to BEAUTIFUL flowers on my doorstep that Jay ordered for me. :)

Late afternoon I loaded the babies into the car to meet my mom and Jay for dinner at Moxie Burger in Marietta. We ate outside and soaked up the fall weather. I enjoyed an Angus burger with cheese, bacon, and a fried egg and a side of fried pickles. Very low calorie, but completely appropriate for a birthday celebration! The restaurant serves King of Pops for dessert.

My mom ordered cupcakes to bring to dinner. She told Publix that she wanted pink cupcakes with the number 29 written in red. This is what they created. It appears I am a baseball player. Haha!

Today my birthday present from Jay and the babies arrived in the mall. Jay had designed "Mom Cards" for me to hand out to new friends I meet. I absolutely LOVE them. They are heavy card stock with beautiful green writing and design. I would attach a picture, but they have personal info on them.

Tomorrow the celebration continues with a girls' night with my friend, Elena.
I am excited the see what the year holds for me! Thank you to everyone for making me feel so special on my birthday!

Say What?

Maggie is now 14 months old, and she has picked up several words and phrases. It is so cute to hear her little voice communicate! :)

Her current vocabulary includes:
  • Da-Da
  • Ma-Ma
  • Bye-Bye (with a wave)
  • Thank You
  • Uh-Oh
  • This (pointing to what she wants)
_________________________________________________________

Some unique personality traits of Maggie right now include:
  •  Her interest in boo-boos. She wants to show everyone hers and touch everyone elses.
  • Her demand to have the same treatment as Tuttle and Gigi. They get a fork, she wants a fork. They sit in their chairs for snack, she immediately wants to get in her seat.
  • Maggie LOVES to climb on anything-chairs, brother's bunk bed ladder, the toilet, the counter by the kitchen sink. Luckily, gymnastics started this past Monday, so she can learn to climb safely! (I will post about gymnastics, but I am waiting for her leotard to arrive!)
  • Maggie officially thinks she is a big girl. She is not afraid to keep up with Tuttle and his friends, even at soccer practice she will run onto the field and interrupt practice!

Another feature of Maggie is her curly hair. She did not inherit it from her mommy or daddy! It is especially curly outside with Georgia's humidity!

It is so much fun to watch Maggie's personality develop everyday!

Supper Club and a Birthday Party

Our weekend zoomed by once again, but we had some great family time on Saturday and Sunday.

Late Saturday afternoon the McEwan's hosted Supper Club at their new home. Although the Ashford Park girls had seen each other several times for dinners out, our families had not seen each other for Supper Club in a while. I love how the group has grown bigger with new families and new babies. :)

Since we met at 4pm, everyone brought an appetizer to share. I made Rotel cups, and it has officially become my go-to recipe for large groups. Who can pass up a combination of bacon, cheese, Rotel, and mayo?

I enjoyed catching up with the adults, and the kids ran around the house and played with all the new toys.

Today we celebrated Baby Charles' first birthday at the Burke Barnyard. :)

The weather was perfect to enjoy the farm themed party. Tuttle and Maggie spent the entire time running around the backyard.

Baby Charles is loved by so many people, and we were happy to be present for his special day.

Val's entire family traveled from Florida for the party. I love spending time with her loud and fun Cuban bunch! :)

We will have two more reasons to celebrate soon: Stephanie and Jonathon's baby boy's arrival and David and Elaine's wedding!

Happy First Birthday, Charles!

Lucky Boy!

Tuttle has been getting some special treatment from his grandparents over the past week. :)

Last Thursday his Gram took him to the movies to see Planes. He had a blast munching on popcorn and candy. After the movie Gram let him browse in the Lego store. This is Tuttle's version of Heaven. Luckily she had bought him a Planes toy, so she could lure him out of the store happily!

(Tuttle insisted on making funny face with Gram.)

Yesterday Grandmommy and Grandaddy picked Tuttle up after school to go to the circus! The Cole Brothers Circus of the Stars came to Farmington, Georgia, which is near my in-laws' house. Tuttle loved seeing the clowns, elephants, and ponies. He devoured cotton candy and popcorn, too. :)

Our babies are so lucky to have their grandparents so close for these fun adventures!

Weekend of Parties

Our family just had a FABULOUS weekend full of parties. The kids and I started Saturday shoe shopping with Gram. After lunch, I left the kids with Gram and Grumps and headed for a haircut alone. It was so relaxing to spend some time getting pampered.

I took a THREE HOUR nap, and then Jay and I dressed up to attend my ten year high school reunion at Sweet Water Brewery. I was very excited to see all my old friends.

Almost all of my best girlfriends came to the event. It is crazy that now all of us are either engaged or married. We reminisced about all the funny stunts we pulled as teenagers. I wish I saw these girls more often.

Although I graduated with almost 600 people, I though the turnout to the reunion was very successful. The girls that put the event together did such an impressive job. The food was yummy (Moes catered!) and the music was mostly songs from our high school days. :)

I cannot wait to see everyone again at our twenty year reunion! Go Hoyas!!

My mom kept the kids until noon today, so Jay and I slept in and relaxed at the house for the morning. We ended the weekend with a baby shower for Stephanie and Jonathan.

Jonathan's mom and sister hosted the shower, and every detail was perfect. Jonathan's mom has the BEST house for entertaining. She even hired babysitters to watch the kids. What a great touch!!

Jay's friends are such a close group, and I love to celebrate all our exciting life events together.

Stephanie is such a cute pregnant lady! She obviously did not take after me and become a whale!

We feasted on a low country boil, yummy macaroni and cheese, and tiny key lime pies.

The kids' area had little games and a table full of colorful wigs to dress up.

Hilarious!

Our family cannot wait to welcome Baby Poole into the group. He is going to be one loved little boy!!

Bring on the week!
