Tuttle's Preschool Christmas Party

We celebrated Christmas with Tuttle's preschool class this morning.

Maggie and I showed up a little early to help set-up, and Maggie was in Heaven with all the toys in the classroom. I know she will be 100% ready to start preschool next year.

Kristen made most of the food for the party, and it was absolutely ADORABLE!

Tuttle loves his friends at school so much, and I always enjoy seeing the kids' personalities.

After the party several mommies took the kids out to the school playground to run off some energy before naptime. 

The next Christmas event is the preschool holiday performance on Friday. I cannot wait to watch Tuttle sing all the songs he has been practicing at home. :)

Christmas Cookie Party

Tuesday I hosted a little party to decorate Christmas cookies with some of my sweet neighbors and their babies. It was the perfect excuse to get together during the holidays, and we had a blast!

The bigger kids sat at one table while the little kids sat at the picnic table. 

 There was frosting, candy, and sprinkles for the kids to choose from, and Tuttle took it to the extreme! :)

Afterward the kids played and ate lunch while the grownups had a chance to catch up. 

Maggie was her typical animated self, and I caught some of her famous faces on camera.

We are definitely in the holiday spirit at our house, and I am LOVING Christmas time with the babies!

Playing Weekend Catch-Up

We had such a nice little weekend despite the cold rain. Friday I snuck off to my mom's house around the babies' bedtime to spend the night. We had plans to go to the Marietta Tour of Homes early the next morning. It has become a tradition to attend the event each year with my mom's friends, but they could not come this year. I insisted to my mom that we still go, and I am so glad we did!

We started the morning off with breakfast at Gabriel's Desserts, a DELICIOUS bakery in Marietta. We obviously had to pick up some extra treats to take home, including Christmas cookies for the babies and a quart of tomato basil soup for me.

There are six houses on the tour each year, and we expected to see about half of them, but we were pleasantly surprised at the small crowds to view the homes. We saw five houses in record time! I loved spending the morning with my mom.

Next I headed home to help Jay pack up the car for our Third Annual Friendsgiving. CJ hosted the event this year at his house, and almost everyone could come. There were also two brand new additions: Baby Whit Horton and Baby Lawson Poole.

 

The food was soooo yummy. I brought dressing and gravy, but my favorite dishes were the candied yams and squash souffle. I went back for seconds and thirds!

On a side note, when I left Friday night for my mom's house, I left Jay with a MOUNTAIN of dishes to clean after cooking the dressing for Friendsgiving. He hand washed and cleaned the kitchen top to bottom with NO complaints. I have a keeper! :)

 

The SEC Championship game was on, so all the guys enjoyed watching a little football. CJ has such a great house for entertaining, so everyone found their own little space to hang out.

We are so thankful for our friends.

Here Comes Santa Claus

We played hookie from preschool on Friday, so I could take Tuttle and Maggie to visit Santa at the mall. I knew Tuttle would jump right up in his lap, but I was not too sure about Maggie. 

Unfortunately Maggie was not a huge fan of the man in red. We will be laughing about these pictures for years to come! :)

Once I rescued Maggie, Tuttle had some one-on-one time to talk to Santa and share his list. Luckily I was listening because his list has been changing recently. He currently wants a skateboard, Ninja Legos, and a watch. 

We ended our adventure with huge cookies and some window shopping at Target. I let Tuttle try out a skateboard (much to Gram's disapproval!), and he was in Heaven! It looks like we might be adding to Santa's pile of toys on Christmas morning....

Even though Maggie screamed when I put her in Santa's lap, she cannot get enough of the picture we purchased at the mall. I put it on our fridge, and she drags me over to look at it multiple times a day. I guess the experience did not scar her too deeply!

Caught on Camera

I know I am totally biased to thinking my children are the cutest things ever, but I get such a kick out of Maggie and her faces. I particularly LOVE her mad face, and I finally caught it on camera. :)

I also caught such a sweet moment with the babies last night. Gigi stayed a little later than normal, so I put on a Christmas movie before bedtime. Maggie crawled up on the couch and wanted to snuggle, too. 

Bockle

Our Elf on the Shelf, Bockle, arrived Saturday morning. Tuttle and Maggie were both so excited to see him. I introduced him last year, but Tuttle was still a little young to understand the concept. He totally gets it this year, and he wakes up every morning asking where Bockle is hiding. 

The biggest success has been the elf pajams that Bockle left for Maggie and Tuttle. Tuttle has literally worn them everyday since Saturday. I do insist he wears real clothes to church and school, but he immediately changes into the pajamas as soon as we walk in the door. Yesterday I had to wash them, and he stood by the laundry room door in his underwear waiting on them to be clean! I just love my silly boy! :)

Although I will probably grow tired of finding new hiding places, it has been fun so far to stage Bockle for the next morning once the babies are in bed.

Thanksgiving 2013- Corbitt Editon

We celebrated Round Two of Thanksgiving with my side of the family Saturday. Since my cousin lives in Philadelphia, we always get together the Saturday after the official holiday since her family has to fly. I love that we have the event then because we do not have to rush between two families on the actual day. 

My aunt and uncle hosted this year, and we had such a fun and relaxing time visiting with family. I have a much smaller family than Jay, and I absolutely love spending time with everyone. 

Tuttle, Maggie, and Gwen were the main entertainment. Tuttle and Gwen had everyone rollign with laughter when they started debating the correct words for "The Wheels on the Bus." I am looking forward to watching this gang grow up together, and another baby will join the family in March.

We were able to officially congratulate Emily and Robb on their baby boy news, and we also celebrated my grandma's 93rd birthday on Saturday. 

Although Gram dropped the ball and did not bring mashed potatoes (She may never hear the end of that!), everyone ate way too much food. :)

The babies were able to run around for few minutes in the backyard before we left. I am predicting a cold winter, so we are trying to soak up any warmth left.

I convinced everyone to poise for a picture of all the beautiful Corbitt women. 

We are already looking forward to celebrating Christmas with my family in less than a month. Happy Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for this year.
