Peachtree Road Race 2013

The Thorne Family was not going to let a little rain stop them from celebrating the 4th of July! Aunt Peach, the babies, and I arrived early to watch Daddy run in the Peachtree Road Race. It was Jay's ninth Peachtree race.

There was a 100% chance of rain, so we were prepared to get wet. Fortunately it only rained during the wheelchair race and then let up.

I have never arrived early enough to see the professional runners, but this year we made it in time. Needless to say, they are FAST!

Since Daddy was in "Group A," he was in a smaller group and easily able to find us.

Jay finished with a personal PR and a Peachtree PR of 43:41. He placed 946 in the men's division out of about 26,000. He placed in the top 4% of men and top 2% of all runners. We are so proud of you, Daddy!

We had the best time cheering on all the runners and checking out some of the crazy costumes!

What a difference a year makes.....

Our family is extremely blessed to live in the United States and embrace our freedom everyday. Thank you to all the armed forces, past and present, for making this a reality.

Happy 4th of July!
