Happy Birthday, Grandaddy!

This past weekend our little family headed to Madison, Georiga, to celebrate Grandaddy's 70th birthday! I was definitely looking forward to some time to relax with so many babysitters on hand.

Tuttle feels right at home at his grandparent's house. He heads directly to his toy corner when he walks in the door. One of his favorite things to do is write on Grandmommy's chalkboard. He draws a mean circle!

Smelly LOVES visiting Grandmommy and Grandaddy, too. She is obsessed with chasing her tennis ball in their wide open backyard. Tuttle always manages to get Grandaddy to ride him around the backyard in his truck.

Jay and I were able to go on a mini date while Grandmommy, Grandaddy, and Aunt Peach took Tuttle to his FAVORITE restaurant, Cracker Barrel.

On Saturday, we started off the morning singing "Happy Birthday" to Grandaddy. Tuttle helped blow out the candles.

The women spent the late morning shopping while the men (+Tuttle) hung around the house. Grandmommy spoiled Maggie Ruth on the shopping trip with some frilly pieces to add to her growing collection.

That night we ate dinner at The Silver Moon near Reynolds Planation. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. I enjoyed oysters, fried shrimp, and Parmesan grits. Tuttle enjoyed dragging everyone at the table to the game room.

Aunt Peach tried to give Tuttle some golf pointers on the putting green, but Tuttle does not like anyone to interrupt his concentration on the game.

I attempted some pictures of the three Jere Tuttle Thornes. Someone was not interested.

Much to your surprise, these two men are not twins.

A little ice cream in your underwear makes everything better, especially in the country.

Happy Birthday, Grandaddy! We love you!!

  1. That looks like so much fun. I used to go to college in Milledgeville so it's right near Madison. Lots of my sorority sisters used to work out at Reynolds Plantation. That's such a beautiful part of Georgia.
