Fun in Madison

Luckily, we were able to fit in a trip to Madison before my month long vacation ended. I enjoyed being able to relax, and Tuttle eats up all the extra attentin from his grandmommy and grandaddy!

Tuttle gets the run of the house whenever he visits, so he had a lot of adventures during our stay.
He would spend hours in his push car, and my in-law's landscaping is beautiful, so I enjoy walking around, too!

Tuttle gets to eat yummy treats that I don't keep around the house like cookies and juice. I think Tuttle looks HUGE in the picture below! When did he get so tall??
He spends HOURS playing with all the toys and books. It is like a toy store explored at his grandparent's house!

Tuttle has started getting frustrated with his toys if they will not do what he wants them to do. For example, he wanted to fit his sippy cup inside of a little compartment on a push toy. It was not happening, and Tuttle was not happy about it. He threw an absolute fit! We cannot help but hide our giggles. :) He is becoming such an independent little boy, and I think it is safe to say he is a little hard headed!

We headed home today. We have missed Jay so much! Fortunately, we will see Grandmommy, Grandaddy, and Aunt Peach in Hilton Head in TEN DAYS!!

New Shoes and Lunch Out

On Saturday, Jay was super ambitious. He got up at 6 a.m. and ran a practice Peachtree Road Race. I have a feeling he might win this year! :) Afterward, he had a day with the guys. They went to lunch, played golf, went to dinner and out for a few drinks.

Tuttle and I decided to go to my mom's for the day. We went to breakfast at our usual spot, J. Christophers and then went shopping! My mom always spoils us rotten! We picked up a couple things for our beach trip (new bathing suits, a colorful dress, a vintage Elmo shirt for Tuttle).

As most of you know, I have been putting Tuttle in shoes since the day he was born. I absolutely LOVE baby shoes! Since I cannot do the big bows on my little boy, shoes are the next best accessory! I was very thrilled when my mom suggested we go to Stride Rite for a pair of good walking shoes.

He was measured for shoes the moment we walked in, and much to my surprise, he needs size 5.5 shoes!! I have been pushing his little feet into size 4 shoes! This was definitely a bad mom moment. :(

We picked out the cutest shoes that were also recommended for early walkers, and Tuttle walked ALL OVER the store! My mom and I are convinced the shoes really made a difference. Maybe that is why all his friends are walking, and he was still cruising around the apartment!!

It has become increasing difficult to get a picture of Tuttle since he is on the move now.

On Sunday, we met Val and Paul for lunch at Treehouse.
They are getting married in September, and Jay is very happy to be part of their special day! Paul is one lucky guy to snag Val!! :)

Every time we go out to eat now I am very nervous about how Tuttle will handle it. Dinners are really completely out because he is tired and will not cooperate and sit in the highchair. We still take a chance on lunches.
He was GREAT today! I brought them a PB&J and some snacks, so he could eat right away. He has turned eating into a game and will "drink" his food from a cup or container. It makes us laugh so hard!

Once the food came, Tuttle sat in Paul's lap for the entire meal and munched off Paul's plate. I actually ate an entire meal with TWO HANDS! Thanks, Paul!!

Tuttle loves Val, too!
Don't I have the cutest husband around?

After lunch, Tuttle and I came to Madison to visit his grandparents for a couple days. I know Jay LOVED the quiet time to just veg on the couch. :)

Grandmommy and Grandaddy's house is the best!

Splish Splash!

We had another great playdate at the pool today with my friend, Calley, and her son, L.J. I met Calley at the Brookhaven Bolt when Tuttle was about six weeks old, so L.J. is Tuttle's first official friend. :)

Calley and I try to get together frequently to walk, go to the park, or swim with the boys. She lives about half a mile away, and I feel so lucky to have a "mom friend" close by!

Tuttle and I both get a little stir crazy staying at home all day, and since it is about two million degrees outside, the best place to go is the pool!

Tuttle can eat a popsicle like a pro now!
L.J. ready for a dip in the pool :)

Never without his shovel!

L.J. was such a little fish!!

Today, Tuttle spent a lot of time snacking at the grown up table. He devoured raisins, goldfish, and a popsicle in addition to eating yogurt, pancakes, veggie sticks, a hotdog, cinnamon toast, and chicken/veggie macaroni and cheese today!

I hope Tuttle and L.J. remain buddies for a long time!
Thanks for coming over today, Calley and L.J.!

Weston is in Town!

My good friend, Weston, came to visit this week from Virginia. We have been friends since college, but she is very nomadic and spontaneous, so I rarely get to see her. :( Luckily, she just got her teaching degree and decided a trip home to see the girls was in order. I could not agree more!

Weston decided to keep Cohen, Rachel's son, for the day. We met at the cutest park near Inman Park for a picnic. Rachel was able to join us for a little while, too. I will definitely be going back to this park. It has a playground and a pond full of HUGE fish, turtles, and the neighborhood goose!

I cannot believe how quickly our babies are turning into big boys!

Weston is so good with the babies! They love her!

Rachel and Cohen. She NEVER takes a bad picture! :)

We saved some leftover lunch bread to feed the fish and turtles. Tuttle loved watching all the action in the water.

I am glad this was not the end to my "Weston Time." Rachel had everyone over for a game night, too. Jay stayed home with Tuttle since he goes to bed at 8:00, so I really enjoyed my time 100% devoted to my friends.

Hostess with the Mostest! Rachel can make chips and dip look fancy!

Baby Jett came to Game Night, too. Couldn't you just eat him up?

We have definitely changed a lot since our days at UGA. From moving across the country to getting married to having babies, we have grown up a lot, but it means so much to me that we stay close through all the CRAZINESS!

Thanks for visiting us, Weston!!

Father's Day Weekend

We had a very fun, but exhausting weekend! On Saturday after Tuttle's swim lesson and a nap, we headed to Jon Poole's house for a cookout. Tuttle was definitely showing off all day! He was walking all over the house and getting into everything. Jay and I spotted him up the stairs AT LEAST twenty times!

Jon recently got engaged to Stephanie in GREECE! They really are the best couple, and we cannot wait for their wedding next year!
Jay let me dress Tuttle just like him! I love dressing my little boy like a little man! :)

Much to Tuttle's disappointment, the bottle was empty!

We were thinking Tuttle would be into baseball like his daddy, but maybe we have a football star on our hands???

After Tuttle's nap at Jon's house, Kristin and Justin arrived with Connor. Tuttle is always excited to see his girlfriend. We approve of his choice, too. Her little voice is absolutely adorable. When I asked her, "Who is your boyfriend?" She replied, "Tuttle my boyfriend." I caught them kissing when Tuttle had to leave. How cute!

Tuttle loves to read on his own now. His favorite book is currently a Little People Lift the Flap book. He laughs every time he discovers a hidden animal. I was a complete book worm as a kid, so I hope he takes after his mommy!

For Father's Day, we were looking forward to Jay running in the Father's Day Four Miler at Turner Field. He ran it last year and had been training for it after work each night. When we got home from Jon's cookout, I suggested that Jay check his time from last year and make a new goal. He pulled up the website and discovered the race had taken place that morning! He had missed it and was extremely disappointed!! :( Neither one of us even considered that a FATHER'S DAY FOUR MILER would not be on Father's Day! Bummer!

Therefore, we had to think of a replacement plan for the next day. Jay suggested that we go to Waffle House in our pajamas. :)

Our yummy spread! All low calorie! :)

While our breakfast does not fit with my "Get Ready for the Beach" plan, it was DELICIOUS! I hope our Waffle House Pajama Breakfast becomes a family tradition!

After Tuttle's nap, Jay's parents and sister came over to visit. Tuttle's absolute favorite person in the world is his grandaddy! He smiles so big and practically jumps from my arms to him every time.
Tuttle spotted Aunt Peach's popsicle. It didn't stand a chance!

It has turned into a family tradition (even before I was in the picture) to eat at the Buckhead Diner when Jay's parents are in town. Unfortunately, Tuttle did not cooperate, and I had to get my meal to go. I guess we have officially entered the phase of no restaurants with the baby. :)

We had a wonderful weekend! Happy Father's Day!!

Lunch with Gram

Tuttle is so lucky that both sets of grandparents live so close to him! We rarely go two weeks without seeing them. :) My mom and I try to meet for lunch regularly, so today we drove to Alpharetta to eat at Panera (my FAVORITE!) near her work.

Tuttle loves Sesame Street, especially Elmo and Ernie! He will watch an entire 45 minute Elmo's World video without moving!

I failed to take any pictures during lunch because Tuttle's PB&J was rather messy, but he ate a TON! Jay and I keep thinking his huge appetite is an upcoming growth spurt, but I am beginning to think we just have a boy that will eat us out of house and home!

After lunch, we had a few minutes to walk around. I especially loved Tuttle's outfit today! Yes, I know that the shoes make walking a little more challenging, but I could not resist such adorable flip flops!!

On a side note, he is taking more independent steps this weeks. He averages about five steps before he tumbles down, but he seems determined to get better!

 Silly Gram!

We are looking forward to a great Father's Day weekend!!
