Life is Good

How could you not love your job when you get to play with these three cuties all day? :)

On top of that, I get a husband that spoils me, especially on my birthday!

Life is good.

Happy 2 Months, Maggie Ruth!

Today Margaret Ruth Thorne has been part of our family for two months.

At 2 Months, Maggie
  • is 9 lbs, 6 oz (7%)- She is a PEANUT! :)
  • is 22.5 inches long (48%)
  • eats about 2.5-3 ounces every 2.5-3 hours during the day
  • spits up far less often since we have changed to Enfamil Gentlease.
  • wears 0-3 month clothes (FINALLY!).
  • wakes up once a night to eat, but she has gone 3-4 nights with about 7 hour stretches!
  • is struggling with painful gas, but we are hoping to get a solution from our doctor tomorrow.
  • still LOVES the swing and takes most of her naps in it.
  •  still must be swaddled to be comfortable
  • still takes a bath every morning in the baby tub while Tuttle eats breakfast.
  • has moved into her room to sleep at night in her bassinet.
  • has started to be happy playing in the bouncy seat or on the play mat for short periods of time.
  • usually rides in the Baby Bjorn during walks since Mommy has three kids around now.
  • gets over stimulated very easily.
  • has started to take a paci more often, but she still does not cry for one like Tuttle did.
  • smiles A LOT! :)

Georgia Aquarium

While Jay went to Music Midtown with some friends this weekend, the kids and I went to the Georgia Aquarium with Gram. This was Tuttle's first time visiting the fish, and we could not wait to see his reaction! He did not disappoint!

When we arrived, Tuttle noticed a lot of people dressed up like pirates. Apparently if your kids dressed up as pirates, they got in free. Since he is OBSESSED with pirates, it was already looking like a successful day. Furthermore, Tuttle was absolutely over the moon to see all the sea life. He loved to point out everything he recognized and was in awe at the exhibits. My mom and I could not get enough of his reactions. He was as much a show to the other gusests with his "Oohs and Ahhs" as the fish were!

Tuttle's favorite animals were the beluga whales, the sharks, and any fish that looked like Nemo. Since we have been home, he has told me the alligator was his favorite.

Maggie was such a good girl the whole time. She either slept in the stroller or in my arms.

We attended the dolphin show, as well, but we were disappointed with it overall. There was a cheesy musical story that took away from the show when we really just wanted to see the amazing dolphin tricks. Tuttle loved it, so that is all that really mattered.

Afterwards we ate lunch at an outdoor cafe, and it was the perfect way to the end the day.

Thanks, Gram! This is a memory that will last a lifetime! :)

Successful Sharing

Obviously sharing is an issue you battle with a two year old. I spend a lot of time talking to Tuttle about being nice and sharing with his friends and praising him when he treats his friends kindly.

I got out the box of baby toys for Ellie today.

Tuttle took sharing to an all new level.

How could you not share all your toys with such a cutie?

My days are crazy with three babies, but I would not have it any other way!

Early Birthday Dinner

My mom and Dave had our little family over for dinner yesterday to celebrate my birthday early. We are so busy every weekend that it only worked for everyone to celebrate before the actual day. My stepsister and her new fiancee were able to come, too!

Tuttle always loves new toys at his grandparents' houses!

I did not make it very easy on my mom because I requested a Thanksgiving meal when given the choice for my birthday dinner. She cooked turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole, squash casserole, green beans, deviled eggs, rolls, and cranberry sauce. Yum!

Eating at home is much easier with a newborn and a toddler. Tuttle had so much fun that he cried almost all the way home. He did not want to leave Gram and Grump's house! Thank you for a great evening and meal!!

Dave brought over my birthday surprise this past weekend. I had been bugging him to make a bench for our mudroom for a while now. He can literally make ANYTHING! I love the final product. Jay and I think he should open up a shop called "Wehr's Wares."

On a side note, Maggie slept from 9pm-4:30am and then from 4:45-7:30 last night!! Woo! Hoo!

Boys and Their Toys

We have been enjoying afternoons playing at home more recently. With three kids two and under, it has to be VERY important to load the car up and head out, so we have been more creative with our own resources.

Tuttle is always pretending that his construction vehicles are scooping up dirt, so why not give him some pretend dirt (aka rice) to push around the construction site? He informed me that his workers are building a house.

He has become OBSESSED with the rice. He literally wakes up in the morning, jumps out of bed (once I come to get him!), and runs down the hall yelling, "Rice!" Yesterday he never fell asleep during the two hours he was in his bed for naptime. I could hear him singing about the rice!

I finally moved the rice outside after two days of picking up mess in the playroom, but it was well worth the extra chore to watch him play! The girls enjoyed watching the action and soaking up a taste of the fall weather, too.

Last night Jay got the best idea to set up his tent in the front living room for Tuttle.

We are currently in the tent as I write this blog! This space is a boy's dream come true!

How could I not post a picture of our pretty girl, too? :)

Happy Weekend!

Splish Splash

Last night Tuttle and Maggie took their first bath together! This was one of the sibling moments I had looked forward to as a mommy. Tuttle was so sweet to Maggie and even shared his bath toys. Happily sharing is something my two year old struggles with daily. :)

Maggie was all smiles floating around in her Bumbo boat.

I cannot wait to experience more sibling bonding. I can tell Maggie and Tuttle will be close friends.

Sweet Maggie

Right now Maggie is snoozing away in my arms. She refused to sleep while Tuttle and Ellie napped, and she is finally asleep right before I will hear the other babies waking up. I guess she just wanted some solo mommy time. :)

Maggie is such a sweet girl. Ever since we changed her formula to Enfamil Gentlease, she has been a much happier baby. She is spitting up significantly less, and even though she is still a small peanut, she is filling out her 0-3m clothes more and more everyday. This is a good thing because she has so many clothes that I was afraid she would not get around to wearing everything before the weather cooled off.

Maggie is happiest in my arms, and this makes me pretty darn happy, too. I love my baby girl to the moon and back!

Go Georgia Bulldawgs!!

Supper Club and a Little Georiga Football

After a VERY busy week watching three babies, we kept the action going this weekend.

Jay and I were finally able to host Supper Club at our house Friday evening. It was way past due, and I was very happy that everyone could come. We had a full house with 12 adults and 9 kids. It was a trial run to see how our house handles large crowds, and it passed the test. The biggest hit was the playroom which looked like a war zone at the end! :)

If it was not for Jay, the house would have been a wreck and no food would be available to eat. I planned to host before knowing how busy my day is with three kids, and I was not able to lift a finger to help Jay. My only contribution was buying the food. Jay straightened the house, set up the beverage and food stations, placed additional seating around the house, and cooked the food. I have the BEST husband!

We served a low country boil. It was yummy along with the sides everyone else brought.

We bribed the kids to sit on the ledge outside with cupcakes. It worked! Our group is growing and growing, and four of the mommies are pregnant again!!

Maggie Ruth slept almost the entire party, but she woke up long enough to smile for the camera.

Tuttle has officially hit the age where he entertains himself at gatherings, and Jay and I can actually enjoy conversation without worrying about what Tuttle is getting into. As everyone was packing up, I noticed Tuttle was snuggling in his bed. I went to check on him and found Will reading to Tuttle. At the end of each book, Tuttle was requesting, "More, please." It was one of the cutest moments to date.

We loved catching up with our Ashford Park friends.

Even though the Georgia game did not begin until after 7pm Saturday night, I dressed up the kids, and we took them to Heather and Patrick's house in Decatur to watch some football. I definitely got a break because Maggie was passed from friend to friend, and Tuttle ran all over the house having the time of his life.

After having a little boy, Maggie gets dressed up to the max! She was sporting a barrette, Georgia onesie, polka dot bloomers, and a red/white/black tutu. Our girl was ADORABLE.

I left Jay to finish the game, so the kids could go to bed. It was a wonderful decision to stay up late watching the Bulldawgs because everyone slept in this morning! :)
