Level 6 State Championship

Maggie's gymnastics season came to an strong end this weekend! To celebrate all their hard work, the girls dressed up in themes each day leading up to Saturday for practice.

Roswell hosted the state meet, so Maggie was very happy to perform on her home terf. Level 4 has been challenging but Maggie rose to the challenge and achieved her highest All Around score ever!

She scored 8.9 on UB, 8.975 on FX, 8.850 on VT, and 9.075 on BB for an overall score of 35.7! The team also took home 6th place for Level 4 for the state of Georgia!

We could not be more proud of our tiny gymnast and look forward to what she can do in the future at Roswell Gymnastics.

Happy Birthday, Tuttle!

Tuttle turned 11 years old this week, and we started our two week celebration of our favorite biggest boy.

After letting Tuttle sleep in a little bit on Wednesday, he opened his family presents and took ice cream sandwiches to his friends at school.

Our family went out for burgers after baseball practice and ended with a dessert burger and funnel cake fries. Yum!

Everyone is looking forward to an extended family party on Saturday and a friends pool party the following weekend. It is so easy to celebrate such a special birthday boy that we had to make the festivities last throughout the month!

Home Runs and Home Improvement

Both boys played baseball games Saturday, and Jacob was thrilled to finally "compete" against another team. Five year old baseball is really just chaos on the field with half the boys dog piling for the ball, and the other half completely unaware that they are playing baseball. :) Jacob did manage to get a hit both times up to bat on the coach pitch, and he was right in the middle of the action chasing the ball and body slamming his teammates when the opposing team was up to bat. If you ask him, he will in insist that he also scored a home run and was given the game ball. Ps- no game ball was handed out....

Grandmommy and Grandaddy came to cheer on Tuttle at his game. While his team is not having the best luck winning, Tuttle continues to shine with strong batting and fielding. He is now consistently playing 2nd base with several important plays each game. We are so proud of his hard work this season!

Grandmommy took on a huge job at the house with helping me rework the bed in the front. I hated the pile of bushes since we moved in, and Grandmommy not only grew three beautiful hydrangea plants for me, but she removed the old bushes and landscaped the new bed. I could not have done it without her!

The pool is open for business, and there is nothing better than hearing all the neighborhood kids splashing in the backyard.

We ended our weekend with dinner and drinks at Jancy and Phil's house with all the Thorne cousins. Everyone actually lives in Roswell now, so there should be no excuse why this group does not get together more often. We had the best time!

Disney Surprise

Jay and I planned our spring break trip to Disney months ago, but we kept it secret until the last minute. The kids were under the impression that we needed to get up super early to lay pine straw in the yard, but little did they know that we would be jumping in the car to head to Orlando!

This trip proved to be our easiest and more fun family trip to date. We did not pack a stroller or pack-n-play, and the kids were all in charge of wheeling their own suitcases (I packed them!). Aside from wearing masks in the parks, the limited capacity had us feeling like we had Disney all to ourselves! Such amazing memories and we cannot wait to return.
