Our Only Child

We survived the first week of school. Everyone is completely exhausted, especially Mommy, but we were early for drop-offs, completed all homework, attended every sports practice, and finished the week with smiles at a pool party, hosted by the sweetest friends.

Jacob does not start school until after Labor Day, so he was able to have all my attention this week as an only child.

We tried to get caught up on life with lots of errands and cleaning, but we were also able to fit in a trip to the zoo, a playdate, swim lessons, and a Lego surprise for being such a trooper in the car with all the sports practices.

Jacob's nap schedule moved up since we are getting up much earlier for school, so both of us are ready for some down time by noon. New jammies help make rest time more comfy. Can you tell we are ready for fall?

We celebrated our favorite Uncle C.J.'s 40th birthday yesterday at his house with a giant slip-n-slide. Daddy is paying for it today. I think he went down it more than anyone else at the party!

Everyone is in bed early tonight to prepare for another crazy week. I know Jacob is ready to go to school like Maggie and Tuttle, but I am going to savor three more weeks with my "big boy baby."
