Happy 4th of July!

We celebrated such a fun 4th of July. As is tradition, we started out the morning bright and early with the Peachtree Road Race. The weather was not on our side this year, but we still had fun watching the runners (especially the ones in silly costumes) and cheering on Daddy. It was his 11th consecutive race.

Maggie stayed safely in the stroller and out of the rain most of the time.

The rain really started to come down about an hour into our cheering, but luckily Daddy showed up at that point. I thought running in all the rain would be miserable, but Daddy said it was refreshing. Better him than me! :)

I tried to get Tuttle to take his annual flag picture at the race, but he was over being wet. I guess this picture truly represents his attitude. :)

We met up with Jonathon and Stephanie at Taco Mac for lunch after the race. We loved catching up and visiting with Lawson, too!

The rest of the day was spent napping, playing video games, and soaking up some sun in the front yard. The kids were so good and played happily while Jay and I were completely LAZY.

We ended the day with fireworks at Lenox Mall. Tuttle and Maggie were very excited to ride the Marta train to the event and stay up way past their bedtime.

The fireworks show lasted about 20 minutes. Tuttle and Maggie were in awe. It was the perfect way to end my favorite holiday!

Happy 4th of July! We are extremely lucky to live in the land of the free.
