Climbing On Up

We had a free Saturday with no practices, meets, or games, so Jay planned the perfect adventure for us. The weather was absolutely amazing, so we started early and headed to Dahlonega for breakfast at our favorite diner spot. After being completely stuffed, we went off the beaten path to the start of the Appalachian Trail to hike!

Jacob took on the role of line leader.

We made our way to the southern point of the trail and ultimately hiked about 2.5 miles. Jay and Tuttle were scheming a longer trip the whole day and hope to hike the entire Georgia portion very soon!

The time change on Sunday really only affected Maggie and me because she had a gym meet bright and early at 8am. We had to get up about 5:30 (also known as 4:30) to get ready and drive to the sports complex. Maggie wanted to achieve the goal of at least a 35 on her all around score to quality to move up next season. Not only did she score 35.550, but she medaled on vault, floor, and bars! It was a great meet, and I could not be more proud of Maggie's hard work and determination this year at a new gym during a global pandemic.

We enjoyed every second outside this weekend. Even Cat emerged from his snuggly cave to soak up some sunshine. Rain is back this week, but we know spring is within reach!
