Sushi in the Dark

Last night the Ashford Park girls and I went out to dinner at the new sushi place in our neighborhood. Jay and I had tried it a few months ago on a date, and it was FANTASTIC, so I could not wait to go back. Surprisingly all the girls could come which never happens! :)

Little did we know, but it would be one of our most memorable dinners ever. As soon as the waiter brought our drinks, a crazy storm erupted, and the power went out. Luckily we were at a restaurant that did not require much cooking, so the waiter took our orders. You can never go wrong with sushi! :) We ate by candlelight while the storm was raging outside. We literally chatted until our candle burned out, and the waiter told us we had to leave for liability reasons.

I thought this picture turned out pretty well considering the waiter blindly held the camera up!

I highly recommend The One Sushi in Brookhaven. The food was delicious, even with no power, and the service was beyond impressive. The waiter had such a laid back attitude the entire time, and even manually wrote credit card numbers since the machine was down.

No one realized how terrible the storm was until we drove home. Jamie had picked everyone up, so I was able to see how damaging the weather had been to the neighborhood as she dropped everyone off. There were big trees down, power lines laying in the road, and limbs scattered in every yard. Most of the group returned home to no power. Fortunately we did not lose power at all.

I will always remember this dinner with the Ashford Park girls. It was such a fun experience to eat sushi in the dark and catch up with such great friends.
